Pressing the light button makes it brighter, and holding + only turns on and off the backlight on the display. Mines uses an external battery pack to power the light, but if you wanted it to run off the Grizzly battery all you need to do is get a 52v/12v converter, a few xt60 extensions and a switch and wire it up.
